"We cannot accept what the CBI has stated in its charge sheet – only one person was behind the crime. We demand a quick and transparent investigation of the rape and murder of our sister at RG Kar Hospital,” PTI quotes Debasish Halder, a junior doctor, as saying. “We are not going to the Raj Bhavan to meet the governor and seek his intervention. But we will be giving out our message to him.”

"We cannot accept what the CBI has stated in its charge sheet: only one person was behind the crime. We demand a quick and transparent investigation of the rape and murder of our sister at RG Kar Hospital.

“We are not going to the Raj Bhavan to meet the Governor and seek his intervention. But we will be giving out our message to him," Debasish Halder, one of the junior doctors, told PTI.

“As the governor represents the central government, we will talk to him about the CBI investigation which is not transparent at all and it is clear to everyone,”

Another protesting doctor tells The Telegraph Online: “CBI representatives have been scolded multiple times by the court for their callousness in the investigation. We want to send this message to the governor for central attention.”

The procession started from Dorina Crossing near Dharmatala where the junior doctors have set up a stage.

The junior doctors march to Raj Bhavan, chanting slogans in Bengali, demanding justice and swift action in the RG Kar horror.

A group of junior doctors from the rally is expected to meet the Bengal governor soon.

The doctors march receives a boost with many common people participating.

The protests have become larger, reflecting the growing anger and frustration.

The rally is happening even as the Bengal government meets doctors’ associations, apparently to press them to urge the junior medics to withdraw their hunger strike
