Mondal, affectionately known as Kesto, emerged from jail wearing a yellow-grey T-shirt, visibly emotional after a year and a half of legal struggles. His daughter, Sukanya Mondal, who had previously been released on bail, was there to greet him as he stepped out. For the first time in many months, Kesto walked out on his own, having previously arrived at court in a wheelchair.

Mondal’s journey to freedom follows a tumultuous period, having been arrested by the CBI in August 2022 in connection with a cow smuggling case, and later detained again by the Enforcement Directorate. Despite the challenges, Kesto remained resilient, and today he is looking forward to reuniting with family and friends to celebrate the upcoming festivities.
