Fake IDs seized from Bangladeshi national by the BSF at India-Bangladesh border

TT, Cooch Behar, 07.08.24 : A Bangladeshi national was stopped by the BSF at the India-Bangladesh border in Changrabandha of Cooch Behar on Tuesday for carrying an Indian Aadhar card and a PAN card.

Sources said Aanamul Haque Sohel, who is from the Rangpur district of Bangladesh reached the integrated check post with a medical visa.

Upon checking him, the BSF personnel found the Aadhar card and the PAN card in his possession. During interrogation, Sohel revealed that he had obtained the documents from a person in Greater Noida in exchange for money.

After the recovery, the BSF and immigration officials took up the issue with the foreigners' regional registration office in Calcutta and his immigration was marked as "entry refusal." The Indian identity proofs were seized and he was sent back to Bangladesh.

Cattle seized

The police in Cooch Behar recovered 37 buffaloes on Wednesday morning from a truck that was heading towards Assam.

Sources said a team from Boxirhat police station intercepted the truck, bearing a registration of Uttar Pradesh, at a checkpoint in Bhangrapakri.

As the driver failed to produce any documents to confirm that the cattle were being transported legally, the team seized the vehicle with the cattle.

Shadab, the driver, who is from Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh, was arrested with another person.
