
MORTH calls meeting with Sikkim, Bengal on July 8 to decide on NH 10 problems
PRAKASH ADHIKARI, EOI, GANGTOK, JULY 6, 2024 : A national level meeting under the Chairmanship of Secretary is to beheld on July 8 by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) in New Delhi.
It is expected that a concrete decision regarding the problems of National Highway 10 will be made at the meeting.
It is informed that this meeting will have the participation of various departments of Sikkim and West Bengal; such as PWD, Water Resources Department, Railways ,NHPC and National Highway and Infrastructure Development Corporation.
Sikkim PWD’s Secretary Dadul Bhutia and Chief Engineer (National Highway) K. C. Sharma will participate in the meeting.
It is expected that a concrete decision regarding the problem of National Highway 10 will be made at the meeting.
The total length of National Highway 10 from Phoolbari to Gangtok is 174 km. The length of National Highway 10 in West Bengal is and Sikkim is 52 km and Sikkim is 65 km.;
