Jaldhaka runners Anuj and Norden to reach Kedarnath by today.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 20 May 2024 : Two youths of Jaldhaka, Anuj Sharma and Norden Tamang are on the final stage of their expedition from Jaldhaka of Kalimpong District under West Bengal state and is reaching Kedarnath by this afternoon. 
They started their run from Jholung on 8th April and ran via Nepal and Uttarkhand. A run of about 1800 km is being completed today by 3 pm on the 43rd day of their run, stated Gopal Gurung, manager of Jaldhaka Runners. 
With a message of “Run for Health” Anuj (23) of Jholung Bazar and Norden (27) of 45 block Rongo, members of Jaldhaka Runners started their run with challenges ahead. They had to face many unexpected instances.
Earlier they had run and participated in short distance marathons.
They ran at the rate of 60 km per day and on their way were welcomed by all and received with warmth everywhere. Due to the unexpected weather condition and the summer season, they had to tolerate extreme heat of 43 degree in some places during their run. Both of them said that their run will be an inspiration to many for such expeditions.
They were happy to represent people of Jaldhaka and the Gorkhas to Kedarnath and ready to pay their homage to the Gods at Kedarnath.Dham at a height of about 11,755ft in the district of Rudraprayag in Uttarkhand.
