Time to end politics of lies, corruption : Munish Tamang, campaigns in Siliguri Regulated Market
RAJESH SHARMA, EOI, JAIGAON, APRIL 15, 2024 : Congress election candidate for the Darjeeling Lok Sabha Constituency Munish Tamang extensively campaigned in Siliguri town on Monday.
Starting early in the day, Tamang started the town leg of the campaign from the Siliguri Regulated Market, where he interacted with traders and appealed for vote. “The common people are sandwiched between the BJP that works only for the rich people, divides the country and gives assurances to the poor, and the Trinamool Congress that practices nepotism and corruption,” Tamang told an election meeting at Champasari.
“We need to move ahead as a united force, as there is politics going on that seeks to harm small trade and traders and the poor people and the working class,” he said.
“The Congress, the CPI (M) and Hamro Party from the hills have joined hands to end the rule of corruption in the state and the politics of untruths of the present central government,” Tamang said.
Dr Tamang later went to the Siliguri Court, where he met lawyers, visited Jhankar More, Matigara, Bhutia Market and held rallies and campaigned for the elections slated to be held in the Darjeeling Constituency on 26 April.
