PRASHANT ACHARYA, EOI, SILIGURI, APRIL 22, 2024 : The Indo-Nepal border in West Bengal will be closed from Tuesday evening for three days in view of the Lok Sabha polls. 
District Magistrate of Darjeeling Prieti Goyal has issued an advisory to this effect. With the voting due in the Darjeeling district on April 26, the district administration has made extensive arrangements and announced the sealing of the Indo-Nepal border from Tuesday evening.
Cross-border movements will not be allowed till April 26 evening. There will be exceptions for medical emergencies. Vehicles with serious patients will be allowed to cross the border.
Security personnel including the SSB battalions will maintain a vigil not only at the entry gates but also across all the porous borders from Thakurganj in Bihartill Pasupati Fatak in Darjeeling.

KalimNews: The District Magistrate in his order has stated that the movement of both people and vehicle for exit to Nepal and Bangladesh and entry to Indian territory from Banladesh and Nepal under the jurisdiction of the Darjeeling district has been restricted from 6 pm of 23rd April 2024 till completion of poll on 26th April 2024.   

However relaxation is made in medical emergency cases to travel from Nepal & Bangladesh to India Indian Citizen or foreign tourist who are already on tour or otherwise in Nepal & Bangladesh to be allowed, on producing valid travel documents to competent authorities as per due process. 
It also states that all tourists willing to travel to Nepal & Bangladesh to be allowed, on producing valid travel documents to competent authorities as per due process. 
Movement of essential goods (perishable, etc.) vehicles to be allowed after thorough checks, at border check posts by competent authority. 
Conclusively it is said that any voter of 4- Darjeeling PC, may be allowed to enter Darjeeling District jurisdiction on production of proper documents during intervening period including poll day i.e. on 26 April 2024.
