Guard walls on NH 10 at Likhuvir to prevent landslides, says DM Kalimpong

YOWAN MOTHAY, EOI, KALIMPONG, APRIL 19, 2024 : Efforts are being made to prevent landslides along National Highway-10 Likhubhir, Kalimpong District Magistrate Balasubramaniam T. said on Friday.
The District Magistrate said security walls were being installed in the landslide-affected areas of Likhubhir.
The work was being executed in the Likhubhir stretch in the evening to cause minimum disruption to the flow of traffic.
He said commercial vehicles were now plying both ways along the National Highway. After the completion of the work, the road would be widened for two-way traffic.
The PWD was working on war-footing at Likhubhir to complete the repair work of NH10 before the monsoon.
