He assured that he would stand with the Gorkha community till their demand was fulfilled.

Yowan Mothay, EOI, ALIMPONG, APRIL 6, 2024 : Darjeeling Lok Sabha candidate Raju Bista claimed on Saturday that the victory of the BJP was certain. “Our victory is certain because in the Darjeeling hills there is a situation where the Trinamool Congress is hiding its flag when campaigning for Trinamool candidate Gopal Lama.” 

He said: “I am confident from the love of people that I am going to win again from the Darjeeling Lok Sabha seat in the coming Lok Sabha election.” He assured that he would stand with the Gorkha community till their demand was fulfilled.

He said only the BJP government could give justice to the Gorkhas. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also promised many things in his statements many times. The BJP had many issues in the hills and it was but natural that they would work sincerely for the demands of the Gorkha community. Trinamool candidate Gopal Lama had already said that he had no issue. 

Therefore, there would be no benefit even if he won.

Commenting on the Congress Bista said the Gorkha community was faced with many problems today because of the policies of the previous Congress governments. The Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council and the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration that the Congress had given to Darjeeling were worthless. They did not fulfil the aspirations of the Gorkha community. 

Raju Bista reached Kalimpong during the day in course of his election campaign. He was given arousing welcome by BJP supporters in Kalimpong. Many cadres of different political parties joined the BJP during the day, accepting the party flag from Raju Bista. 

In the evening he attended meetings and interacted with eminent citizens from the Kalimpong region, including representatives of various social organisations, drivers' associations, NGOs, business associations, ethnic groups and prominent individuals.
