Diversion for all vehicles through Algarah - Lava Gorubathan route

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 29 March 2024 : The Kalimpong district administration has again ordered for a temporary restriction in NH10 on 30 March to 6 am of 1 April for some urgent works.

Balasubramanian, the District Magistrate of Kalimpong in a circular issued on 28 March stated that stretch at Rabi Mora and Likhu Veer along NH 10 has been damaged due to recent heavy rainfall, and an order of restriction/diversion of movement of vehicles along NH 10 dated 24 March 2024 was in force. It adds that in continuation with that order a further order is issued imposing of temporary restriction of traffic on 30 March 2024, needed for urgent work for protection against landslide to be carried on by PWD. 

The DM has directed to restrict and divert temporarily the movement of all types of vehicles in the NH 10 from Rabi Jhora to 29th Mile on and from 6 am of 30 March 2024 to 6 am of 1 April 2024. 

The detailed restriction arrangement for vehicles are, only small vehicles will move from Rangpoo towards Siliguri via Munsong 17 Mile - Algarah - Lava Gorubathan and to Siliguri and vice versa round the clock. Small vehicles will move from Melli Bridge - Chitrey Kalimpong town Algarah - Lava - Gorubathan and to Siliguri and vice versa round the clock. 

Goods Vehicle will move from Melli Bridge - Chitrey - Kalimpong town Algarah - Lava - Goruhathan and to Siliguri and vice versa from 9 pm to 6 am and goods vehicle and small vehicles will move fern Reshi - Pedong - Algarah - Lava - Gorubathan and to Siliguri and vice versa round the clock.

Necessary restrictions at Rangpoo Check post. Chitrey at District border NH10 stretch  shall he imposed at police (Traffic) for facilitating the route diversion.
