Kalimpong seals border with Bhutan before election

Yowan Mothay, EOI, KALIMPONG, MARCH 17, 2024 : The Kalimpong district administration is ready to conduct the Lok Sabha elections in a fair and peaceful manner, Kalimpong District Magistrate Balasubramaniam T told reporters on Sunday. 
The model code of conduct had already been implemented. 
Four companies of the Central Reserve Police Force had been deployed in the Kalimpong district to ensure a free and peaceful election. 
Keeping in mind the elections, the international border area between the Kalimpong district and Bhutan had been sealed. 
Strict vigilance had been kept on the inter-state borders with Sikkim. This year the number of women voters in Kalimpong is high. 
Voting will be held in 288 polling stations in the district. This year there are 218.098 voters in the Kalimpong district. 
The number of male voters is 107,589 and the number of female voters is 110,509. The District Magistrate appealed to everyone to use voting rights
