Kalimpong boy who helped designing suits for astronauts of ISRO mission


YOWAN MOTHAY, EOI, KALIMPONG, FEBRUARY 29/--/ Samarpan Pradhan from Kalimpong is one of the three students of Knitwear Design Batch 2022 of NIFT Bengaluru who had assisted in the designing of the astronaut’s suit for the Gaganyaanmission of ISRO and the logo ‘The Wings.’ 
His parents Dr Devendra Pradhan and Dr Sanjita Pradhan said on Thursday Samarpan always had a deep passion for design and art ever since he was a child. He attended St. Augustine's school in Kalimpong, where his talent and dedication to both academics and extracurricular activities revolving around design had been recognized. 
He had been awarded the General Proficiency Award for his outstanding achievements. After completing his schooling, Samarpan went on to pursue his Bachelor's degree in Design, specialising in Knitwear, at NIFT Bengaluru. During his time there, he truly shone and received accolades for his exceptional work. His final year design collection was well-received by the fashion industry, earning him the prestigious titles of Best Graduation Project and Most Innovative Collection Awards .Today, Samarpan is working as an apparel designer based in Gurgaon, working with renowned brands
