TJU holds silent protest in solidarity of journalists killed in Gaza

KalimNews, Agartala, 26 February 2024 : Working Journalists associated with Tripura Journalists’ Union on Monday held a silent protest in front of Agartala Press Club extending solidarity to the Journalists who had been killed in Gaza. 
Wearing black ribbons on their faces, the scribes advocated for peace in the war torn region. Speaking on the issue, Tripura Journalist Union State Secretary Santosh Gope said, “Around 100 Journalists associated with different media organizations died in action in the war torn Gaza. Journalists are the medium through which the whole world comes to know about the hard hitting stories of the conflict zones."
 
"Through this protest, we are not only extending our solidarity to the Journalists killed in the war but also advocating for peace.” 
Members of the TJU's General Council also attended the protest.
Meanwhile J K Media Guild also condemned the aggressive forces for killing more than a 100 journalists in the ongoing war, while they were purely discharging their professional duties. 
In a release it said that J K MEDIA GUILD salutes the brave hearts of our fraternity who despite huge threat to their life are still roaming in the streets of death and destruction, unmindful of the unseen challenges in every nook and corner. J K Media Guild prays for the safety and security of the members of Journalist fraternity in Gaza, Palestine. 
Its noteworthy to mention that journalists are observing worldwide protests against the killing of more than 100 journalists in Gaza.
