The arrested has been identified as Dipak Giri, a resident of Gandhi Nagar. He was arrested on Saturday night from the Gandhi Nagar area.
On Thursday night, Mukesh Mittal, a businessman of Siliguri was killed when a speeding car lost control and overturned and Mukesh was crushed under the car on Sevoke Road.
The accused was produced at the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Court on Sunday.

Siliguri Times and Agencies: According to reports, on Thursday night, a speeding car with the registration number (WB74AS1117) was heading from Bhaktinagar to the checkpoint on Sevoke Road under the jurisdiction of the Bhaktinagar police station.
During this, the vehicle lost control, and accidentally rammed into two vehicles and two people standing along the roadside.
Following this, three occupants of the vehicle, including the driver, fled the scene.
On the other hand, when the police learned of the collision, arrived at the scene and transported the injured to a local hospital. Mukesh Mittal, an injured businessman, died while receiving first aid.
Consequently, the family members of the deceased demanded the immediate arrest of the accused driver.
Subsequently, the Bhaktinagar police initiated a hunt for the driver. Later, the accused Deepak Giri was arrested from the Gandhinagar area the previous night.
