Peace is bringing investments in Darjeeling hills: Anit Thapa
YAWAN GURUNG, EOI, MIRIK, FEBRUARY 26, 2024 : Addressing newspersons at Dudhay on Monday, Gorkhaland Territorial Administration Chief Executive Anit Thapa said in the past 15 years the BJP had only brought unrest in the hills, but now people were living in peace in the hills.
“There is peace in the hills so investors are coming to invest in the hills. Had there been no peace, a 100-room hotel would not have been built in a place like Dudhay. Investors are investing with courage.
If such a project comes here, employment will increase, local business will increase. Investors in the hills will invest more,” Thapa said.
“In the last panchayat elections, BJP united all the hill parties and stood against us. But we won the election. Most of the panchayats have our board. It means people are aware they have been deceived by the BJP.
The parties in alliance with the BJP had lost the elections. BJP has threatened the very existence of the people of the hills.
”He said Trinamool Congress had left open to the Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha the assembly panchayat and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration election.
