Umanand Jaiswal, TT, Guwahati, 02.02.24 : The NSCN (IM) chairman Q. Tuccu on the 45th raising day of the rebel group on Wednesday said that the Framework Agreement it signed with the Centre in 2015 “remains the only viable and ideal solution” to the Naga political issue.
Tuccu said: “Today, on this auspicious occasion I am proud to say that NSCN has stood the test of time. In the face of the rapidly changing times, our commitment to Naga's political cause has remained steadfast. We have shown remarkable resilience and loyalty to the Framework Agreement despite all the difficulties because it is our stand that the implementation of the political and peace agreement that the Framework Agreement stands for remains the only viable and ideal solution to the long-delayed Naga political solution.”
The NSCN (IM) made it clear that it was steadfast in its demand for a separate flag and a constitution as part of the final peace deal, a demand to which the Centre is not agreeable, leading to the delay in the resolution of the issue.
“We have proved our credibility as the torch bearer of Naga political issue and national principle. We have stood the ground to stand by our flag and yehzabo (constitution) that symbolise our history and national identity,” Tuccu said.
