One arrested with mobile phones for burglary in a mobile shop

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 21 February 2024 : Kalimpong police arrested on Wednesday one person from Pedong on charges of stealing mobile phones in Kalimping. The incident of burglary had happened on 11 December 2023. The shop of Vijay Kumar Patel named “Patel Enterprise” near Thana Dara was buglared by breaking the backside ventilation of the shop by an unknown miscreant. 14 new mobile phones, 14 old mobile phones of repair, 60 pieces of headphones, 50 mobile LCD, 25 mobile chargers, 42 memory cards/ pendrives, 16 batteries, earbuds, speakers and other accessories were found stolen from the shop during the incident.
Police made a thorough investigation and the modus operandi of past theft cases in the Kalimpong town and discovered some technical inputs. The team of Kalimpong Police station could identify the accused. The accused Anmol Gurung of Pedong is identified and arrested. Anmol confessed of committing the burglary, several stolen articles were recovered from his possession. Police is continuing the process of interrogation and further recovery of stolen articles.
