YAWAN GURUNG, EOI, MIRIK, FEBRUARY 26, 2024 : Darjeeling MLA Neeraj Zimba said on Monday Prime Minister Narendra Modi should give justice to the Gorkhas and turn the Gorkha dream into reality now.
“He has given justice to Jammu and Kashmir, which had tried to separate from the country. We Indian Gorkhas are patriots, we love our country. Gorkhas have contributed a lot to the nation, now we should get justice. Good things take time. We are a constituent party of NDA. When NDA forms the government, we will also participate and we will also get justice."
``Making a strong pitch for bringing the hills under the ambit of the sixth schedule, he said
“It is okay to oppose the sixth schedule without understanding it, but to oppose it after understanding it means that you do not have political consciousness."
He said the sixth schedule was for the security of land.. “Today, the country's richest state is seeking sixth schedule status."
"Union states are also asking for the sixth schedule for the protection of their land and culture,” he said.
