GTDS will find new avenues for the development of tourism in Gorubathan
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 17 February 2024 : The only objective of Gorubathan Tourism Development Society (GTDS) is to include Gorubathan and the entire block in the map of tourism. It will take initiatives to attain the goals of GTDS for which it will approach all the stakeholders and governmental and non governmental agencies of district, state and national level. It has already started in taking steps for the development of the basic infrastructure that Gorubathan lacks in the field of tourism, said Shyam Thapa, newly elected president of the GTDS.
Thapa added that it also has started meeting and consulting the Pradhans and members of the Panchayat Samity and Gram Panchayats to find new propsects, avenues for the development of tourism in the village level also.
He also said that GTDS will find ways for the infrastructural, economical, sociological and other allied development of the tourism in Gorubathan and the entire block. It also hopes that Sabhasads and GTA officials, administrative officers like BDO and Pradhans and members of panchayats and other social activists will cooperate with GTDS for the development of Gorubathan in the tourism sector.
During the meeting held today the present committee of GTDS was reconstituted and new Executive Committee for the year 2024-26 was elected. The newly elected office bearers are Dr Pawan Thapa- Founder & Patron, Shyam Thapa- President, Mr Deo Prakash Rai, Mr Sunil Chettri, Mr Binod Chauhan- Vice Presidents, Tufan Subba -Secretary, Assistant Secretaries- Nirjal Rai, Rajesh Subba and Rajaji Thakur- Treasurer, Binod Chettri- Assistant Treasurer, Puran Rai, Ongden Molommu, Lenin Rai and Kamal Rana- Advisors.
GTDS has expressed its gratitude to the donors, sponsors and contributors for successful organisation of the 2nd Gorkha Traditional Food festival. It also has expressed its deep gratitude to Anit Thapa, GTA chief executive and Ratan Thapa, Executive Sabhasad of GTA and Gorubathan constituency.
