BJP will cease to exist in Darjeeling, north Bengal in 2024: Binoy Tamang

PTI, KOLKATA, FEBRUARY 10, 2024 : With the last session of Parliament in the outgoing Lok Sabha coming to an end on Saturday, it is time for the people of the hills to introspect how the Gorkha people have benefitted from the 10 years of rule of the BJP-led NDA government, West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Binoy Tamang has said in a release.
In the last 15 years the people of the hills had faith and trust in the BJP but in the last 10 years of the Narendra Modi government neither the people of the Gorkha community nor the people in general living in the Darjeeling hills, Siliguri, the Terai and the Dooars had got any justice, he said on Saturday.
Local BJP leaders, including M.P.s and leaders of political allies of the BJP who had said something would happen before the Lok Sabha election should now introspect. “For whom you are in politics?
If your politics is for the people of Darjeeling hills, Siliguri, the Terai and the Dooars and Gorkhas, then do you still trust and believe in the BJP?” He said people would give the BJP a “fitting reply” in the 2024 election.
The political situation in Darjeeling and north Bengal had changed a lot before the LS election in 2024. “The BJP will cease to exist in Darjeeling and the entire North Bengal in 2024.
