Pawan Chamling promises to reinstate OFOJ employees whose services have been terminated

Around 7,000 OFOJ had been terminated since 2019
PRAKASH ADHIKARI, EOI, GANGTOK, JANUARY 21, 2024 : In an address to One Family One Job (OFOJ) employees, former Chief Minister of Sikkim and Sikkim Democratic Front President Pawan Chamling has assured that his party would not only regularise their jobs once SDF forms the Government in2024 but would also reinstate all those who were terminated from the OFOJ scheme under the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha government. 
Around 7,000 OFOJ had been terminated since 2019, he said. In a social media post, In a social media post, Chamling wrote on Sunday: "There has been a lot of debate about the One Family One Job scheme which was originally conceptualized and framed by the Sikkim Democratic Front. 
First, I am saddened by the situation that each and every one of you has faced in the last five years. It has not been easy I know, and the road ahead is filled with challenges, but I would like to express my solidarity and assure you that we are with you every step of the way.
" Chamling said the OFOJ scheme was formally passed in the Legislature meeting, Cabinet and Assembly according to the proper democratic and legal norms and rules, and the SDF govt had ensured that sufficient budget was allocated for salaries. 
"However, it is alarming to know that OFOJ employees have been ignored, humiliated and mass terminated in this present government. There have been numerous reports of late salary, threats, and termination as well.” 
 He wrote: "OFOJ was an SDF vision and it gives me immense satisfaction that thousands of families across Sikkim are benefiting from this scheme.
