GTDS to host Gorkha Food Festival at Gorubathan on 26-28 January


KalimNews, Gorubathan, 2 January 2024: Gorubathan Tourism Development Society (GTDS) is hosting the second edition of a three-day Gorkha Traditional Food Festival (GTFF) 2024 during 26, 27 and 28 January 2024.
During a meeting held today in the presidentship of Ratan Thapa, the Executive Sabhasad of 43 no. Constituency of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration., Titanic View Point of Upper Fagu Tea Estate near the famous Chel river picnic spot is selected as the venue of the festival. 
This year's festival will include exhibition and sale of different traditional Gorkha foods along with showcase of local floriculture, and arts and crafts and other items. A traditional costume competition will also be held in three categories for children, women and men separately.
This festival aims to promote tourism and attract most tourists to Gorubathan which has unique landscape of both the plains and hills as well as other resources and to establish Gorubathan in the tourism map of the country. 
In addition, various musical bands will be invited to present their musical items and numbers during each evening. A committee for organising the GTFF 2024 is constituted with Shyam Thapa as working President and Ratan Thapa, Executive Sabhasad as President and Tufan Subba as Secretary under the GTDS. It also consists of Dr. Pawan Thapa, Ongden Molommu, & Deo Prakash Rai as Vice Presidents, Puran Managar & Sunil Chhetri as Joint Secretaries, Rajajee Thakur as Treasurer and Binod Chhetri as Assistant Treasurer. Suryamani Rai, Sabhapati of Gorubathan Panchayat Samiti is nominated as Patron-in-chief while Lenin Rai, Haider Ali & Yogesh Bachana are nominated as media personnel for press and publicity. Today's meeting was attended by representatives of various organizations and Panchayat.
