KalimNews, 27 November 2023, Kalimpong: Two residents of Sikkim died on Sunday night when a car they were travelling in plunged into the Teesta river in NH 10 near Likhubhir, a police source said.
After a rescue operation by Kalimpong Police, two dead bodies and a vehicle was recovered from the river Teesta near Likhubhir in NH 10.
Sources stated that a Wagon R vehicle bearing registration number WB79A 3924 met with an accident near Likhubhir this morning and the vehicle fell into the river Tista. A Hydra was used for the recovery of the car and the dead bodies.

Both the dead bodies were inside the car and identified as Bishal Chettri of Melli, Sikkim and Thupden Bhutia of Geyzing, Sikkim.
Kalimpong Police and administration was on the spot during the recovery. NH10 was closed at about 8.30 am this morning for two hours and after the operation the traffic was resumed. Both dead bodies were handed over to the relatives after their autopsy.
