Driver from Sikkim held in Nepal after road accident

PRASHANT ACHARYA, EOI, KAKARVITTA, OCTOBER 29, 2023 : Nepal police on Saturday evening arrested 27-year-old driver from Sikkim Pranay Gurung after a road accident on East-West Highway near Pathri under the Morang district of Nepal's Providence Number 1. 
Two people were seriously injured when a Scorpio bearing a Sikkim number plate and displaying a ‘Government of Sikkim’ board hit a motorcycle. 
The driver, a resident of Yangthang Hyalsing, Geyzing, is under the custody of the traffic police. 
Nepal Police are trying to ascertain if the vehicle belonged to the Sikkim Government or if it was a fake one.

The Sikkim Today writes that a Sikkim Government-numbered Scorpio vehicle (SK 01 G 0048) collided with a motorcycle on the highway east of Selfie Road in the state of Morang, Nepal.
The accident took place when the eastbound Scorpio collided with the motorcycle bearing Nepal license plates.
According to reports from Morang, witnesses at the hospital have confirmed that people are being treated.
Although the vehicle number is not visible, according to sources from Nepal news the vehicle number is (SK 01 G 0048 ) and the Scorpio is identified as a Sikkim government vehicle.
