6 tourists injured as car falls100 metres from road at Kalijhora

YOWAN MOTHAY, EOI, KALIMPONG, OCTOBER 26, 2023 : Six people were injured when a vehicle carrying tourists crashed between Kalijhora and Latpanchar Karmath forest village on Thursday afternoon.
OC Sevoke Police Outpost Tapan Das said a Bolero vehicle was on its way from Siliguri to Sitong when it fell an estimated 100 metres from the road.
Three of the six tourists in the vehicle were seriously injured. The tourists were on the way to the homestay in Sitong.
Villagers of Karmath took the injured to a private nursing home in Siliguri before the arrival of the police.
The driver of the vehicle could have fallen asleep when the accident occurred, according to some of the tourists who were conscious and could talk to the rescuers.
