Gorkhaland Rajya Nirman Manch takes separate state demand to Delhi

RAJESH SHARMA, EOI, NEW DELHI, AUGUST 27, 2023 :  On the occasion of a dharna organized by the Small State Federation at Jantar Mantar  in  New Delhi on Sunday, Gorkhaland Rajya Nirman Manch president Dawa Pakharin said that all the Gorkhas of the mountains should be united to force the BJP to fulfill the promise given in the election manifesto.
Apart from the issue of development, all the political parties in  the  mountains needed to give prominence to the issue of their separate state, he said.
An appeal should also be sent to the Prime Minister. President of the Small State Federation R. K. Tomar said on the occasion that the main objective of his Federation was to form small states in the country, to do development work through small states and to solve unemployment problems.
In forming small states, the priority should be on the formation of the state of Gokhaland. The sacrifice of the Gorkha community was considered important for the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in promises made in the past, had appreciated the contribution of the Gorkhas for the defense of the country.
The time had come to fulfill the promise, Tomar said. He said the Small States Federation had its own organization in 18 states.
The Federation had come to co-operate with the BJP, but the BJP was not giving prominence to the issue of the Small State Federation.
