Both the arrested persons are handed over to Bihar police after interrogation by various agencies
Dev Raj Patna, TT,  24.07.23 : The immigration officer at the customs office at Raxaul along the Indo-Nepal border in Bihar's East Champaran district arrested two Chinese nationals on Saturday night for allegedly entering India without valid documents.

Both the arrested persons were handed over to Bihar police after interrogation by various agencies. They were produced before a judicial magistrate and forwarded to jail on Sunday.

The two Chinese men were identified with the help of their passports as Zhao Jing, 38, and Fu Cong, 27. Both of them are from the Jiangxi province of China and did not possess any visa to enter India.

Immigration officers at Raxaul had previously apprehended Jing and Cong on July 2 while the duo were trying to cross over to India from Nepal in an unauthorised manner. The officials stamped their passports with “entry refused” and sent them back to Nepal with a warning that they should not come without a visa.

“The two Chinese nationals again tried to cross over to India in an illegal manner on Saturday night. Their motive aroused suspicion. They were interrogated and handed over to the Haraiya police outpost,” the immigration officer said.

Sources said that the duo had arrived at Birganj in Nepal on June 28 and had been hovering around the Indo-Nepal border since then.

Raxaul additional superintendent of police (ASP) Chandra Prakash told The Telegraph that efforts were being made to verify the details provided by the two Chinese persons.

Sources in the police revealed that the central investigation agencies have been informed about the arrest.
