COMMISSION OF INQUIRY CHAIRPERSON VISITED LAMKA
KalimNews, Churachandpur, July 14, 2013: Hon’ble Justice Ajai Lamba, Chairperson of Commission of Inquiry interacted with the people of Manipur in different relief camps. Justice Lamba reached Churachandpur District by chopper at 36 AR Helipad, Hqtr Veng at around 10:30 today.
The Chairperson, accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner Shri Dharun Kumar, Superintendent of Police Shri Karthik Malladi and other line officers, proceeded to Salt Brook School where about 118 IDPs are sheltered. He later visited St. Mary Higher Secondary School where about 175 IDPs are sheltered.
In both the relief camps, the chairperson interacted with inmates of the relief camps and explained mandates of the commission.
By 11:30 am, he interacted with the general public and CSOs and other stake holders at 36 AR, Headquarter Veng.
It may be mentioned that the Central Government appointed 3 member Commission of Inquiry consisting of Honourable Justice Ajai Lamba, former Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court as the Chairperson, Shri Himanshu Shekhar Das, IAS (Retd) and Shri Aloka Prabhakar, IPS (Retd) as members under the provision of the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1952.
