Bangladeshi girl lured to Siliguri with promise of marriage, arrested
EOI, SILIGURI, JULY 14, 2023: A young Bangladeshi woman, Sapla Akhtar (21) was arrested by police for illegally entering the country.
According to the police the woman who fell in love with a boy from India came to Siliguri to get married and live here.
But after coming to India, the woman ran away when she allegedly found out the real purpose of her lover was to sell her off.
The young girl was wandering around Siliguri Junction when a voluntary organization saw her.
They handed her over to Pradhan Nagar police station who arrested her for illegally entering India and produced her before Siliguri Court on Thursday.
The police have started searching in various places for the accused youth.
