Sikkim CM lays foundation stone of Naumati Cultural Heritage Centre at Bermiok-Martam

Announces Sikkim Research Centre for intellectuals and students 

PRITAM LAMA, EOI, GYALSHING, 23 JUNE 2023 : Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) today laid the foundation stone of Naumati Cultural Heritage Center at Bermiok-Martamin Gyalshling district. 
This centre is going to be built at a distance of just one kilometer from Barmiok Bazar at a cost of Rs 8.21 crore under the Culture department of the state Government. 
Naumati sanskriti Dhorar Kendra'is an ambitious project which aims to protect and promote Naumati Baja, known as the King of Baja for Nepali Community. It will be a multi-purpose hall that can accommodate 150 people at a time, restaurant, youth hostel as well as VIP accommodation, modern amenities, kitchen, dining hall, car Parking, sports hall, traditional gate and open theatre. 
After the foundation laying ceremony of the project the chief minister and dignitaries attended a public meeting at Bermiok School ground. 
In his address the Chief Minister said that this center will be world class and this heritage will become our heritage and not just for specific communities, but for every communities of the state and as well as for the people across the country. 
The Chief Minister also said that the government has approved Rs.8.21 crore under the Culture department in the first phase. The Chief Minister made several announcements. He announced the establishment of the Sikkim Research Center for intellectuals and students who want to do research in Sikkim. 
In this way he announced to provide a government car to the Principal of Barmek Mahatma Srijanga Secondary School. Chief Minister P.S.Golay announced that the ‘Aama’ scheme grant will be increased from Rs.20,000 to Rs.40,000.
The Chief minister was felicitated by the association for his untiring support from the welfare initiative and upliftment of the community. Along with him minister and area MLA Loknath Sharma, State Culture Minister Samdup Lepcha were also felicitated by the All Sikkim Schedule caste welfare association. 
It is historic achievement of Sikkim to have World's first ever, 'Naumati Sanskrit Dhorar Kendra' in the state, the Minister and area MLA Loknath Sharma stated. He also said that the acute shortage of drinking water for Geyzing town and peripheral area under Geyzing-Bermiok constituency was solved by the state Government recently.Chief Minister along with other dignitaries also offered customary prayers and unveiled the Stone Plaque of the Naumati sanskriti Bhawan.
Highlighting various pro-people initiatives and welfare schemes of the state Government, such as Bahini Yojna, Scholarships schemes, MBBS quota for under privileged students. 
Minister and area MLA Loknath Sharma said, "Under SKM Government, poor of the poorest and underprivileged students can dreamt of becoming a Medical Doctors and Engineers". He said, History has written for forever.
During his address the culture minister highlighted various infrastructures development and projects executing under the culture department.CM in his address, said, this project and ceremony is historic not only for the state but for the Nepali community across the world.`
`This dhorar Kendra would play the role of preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.’’
During his address, he briefly spoke on Foreigner tag to Nepali community and he assured all support.
