Heavy rainfall expected: Warning issued : Rainfall may cause flash floods

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 19 June 2023 : Heavy to very heavy rain (07-20 cm) is likely to occur at a few places over Coochbehar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri with extremely
heavy rain (>20cm) over Coochbehar, Alipurduar districts in the next 4 days.
Heavy rain (07-11cm) likely to occur at one or two places over Darjeeling, Kalimpong districts from 19 to 22 June 2023.
Thunderstorm with lightning likely at one or two places.
Following the rainfall alert, increased chances of landslides and water logging have also been predicted in these areas. 
National disaster management authority and district administration has cautioned all stating that such rainfall may also cause flash floods in the low lying areas as such people are advised to find steadfast shelter on these dates and refrain from venturing outdoors.
