The two minors, 13 years and 11 years old, residents of Lagda Chowk in east Nepal, were being drugged and brought to India by smugglers. SSB officials thereafter contacted the Armed Police Force of Nepal and later informed the family members of both the children and on Tuesday the children were handed over to their parents by the SSB Commander in the presence of Nepal APF, NGO (Rapid Response Team) and villagers.
Arjun Karki, Ward chairman of Mechinagar Municipality, Nepal, thanked SSB personnel for saving the kids from being trafficked to India.
He also informed that drug addiction was rising day by day and thousands of youths had spoiled their future.
The Rapid Response Team comprising members from India and Nepal are also doing a tremendous job to save the environment, human elephant conflict and trafficking along the border," said Karki.
