YOWAN MOTHAY, EOI, KALIMPONG, JUNE 24, 2023 : As a part of deployment for the ensuing panchayat elections, Central Security Force personnel have started arriving in Kalimpong.
On Saturday, Central Security Force personnel conducted route marches in different parts of Kalimpong district under the guidance of the Kalimpong District Police.
With the elections due to be held on Central Security Forces reach Kalimpong June 8, the district administration is keen to conduct the polling in a peaceful manner and to boost the morale of the voters.
In Kalimpong town, Central forces were seen patrolling the Mahakal Danra of Bhalukhop village under Kalimpong – I.
In the rural areas of the district, the Central forces talked to the voters. A two-tier panchayat election will be held in the districts of Darjeeling and Kalimpong after a long gap of 23 years
