WB Guv to confer Karmayogi award on former DGP, Sikkim
PTI, GANGTOK, MAY 16, 2023 : Former Director General Police, Sikkim, C M Ravindran is going to receive the Governor of West Bengal’s Karmayogi Excellence Award for the year 2023. The award has been instituted for the first time at Raj Bhavan from this year.
This was informed at Raj Bhavan today in a function to commemorate the Foundation Day of Sikkim which coincides today. Ravindran was an IPS officer of Sikkim Cadre of 1977 and he took the WB Guv to confer Karmayogi award on former DGP, Sikkim charge of Sikkim after superannuation of TN Tenzing on July 31, 2005.
Ravindran was chosen for the prize for his invaluable contribution to improve the policing performance of the State as well as welfare of the police force. He worked in various sensitive zones of the State bordering China.
In October Ravindran also participated in a five-day Interpol meeting. The Award includes prize money worth Rs.1 lakh as well as a citation.
