Anit Thapa reserves comment on Centre calling tripartite meeting on PPS in Darjeeling
Don't Miss
EOI, DARJEELING, MAY 26, 2023 : Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha (BGPM) president Anit Thapa has reserved his comments on the claim made on social media platform that the Centre would call a tripartite meeting in June to find a permanent political solution for the hills.
When asked about this on the sidelines of a programme at the BGPM party office in Darjeeling on Friday, Anit Thapa said: “I have only heard about a tripartite meeting from the media but I have not learnt of any government notification on the matter. Till I get authentic news, it would not be proper, nor wise, to comment on this matter.
”Recently Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Sabhasad Binoy Tamang, an independent political leader from the hills, had claimed that the Centre was most likely to call a tripartite meeting next month to discuss the issue of a Permanent Political Solution (PPS).
Darjeeling MP Raju Bista of the BJP has also said a tripartite meeting would be convened soon.
A tripartite meeting was held in October 2021, after which the second round is yet to take place
