A place where patients are carried in bamboo stretchers to hospital
YOWAN MOTHAY, EOI, KALIMPONG, MARCH 20, 2023 : While the country is moving up the path of progress and Digital India is becoming a reality, in some corners of the country there are not even roads to carry patients to hospital for treatment.
Gajen Rai, a resident of Lower Rishop under no. 38 Lava-Lingse Samasti of the Kalimpong district had been ill for the past several days.
As there is no paved road in the village, the villagers had to carry him to hospital for treatment in a bamboo stretcher. Villagers complain that they face various problems for a long time in the absence of a road in the area.
Patients have to be carried for hours to the main road for a transport to reach the hospital. Some patients even die before reaching the hospital.
Before elections, leaders of different political parties promise to implement various schemes but these remain unfulfilled and the condition of the villages in the are remain the same
