More BJP MLAs in north Bengal likely to cross over to Trinamool’
EOI CORRESPONDENT, SILIGURI, FEBRUARY 8, 2023 : North Bengal Development Minister Udayan Guha has claimed that 12 more BJP MLAs may join Trinamool Congress any moment. His comment made on Wednesday has left the BJP camp uncomfortable.
Alipurduar MLA Suman Kanjilal has recently left the BJP and joined Trinamool Congress. Former North Bengal Development Minister and Chairman of Cooch Behar Municipality Rabindranath Ghosh, too, has claimed that at least three more MLAs of north Bengal will join Trinamool Congress soon.
All India Trinamool Congress general secretary and M.P. Abhishek Banerjee is scheduled to visit north Bengal on February 10 and 11.He will address a meeting in Siliguri on February 10 and one in Mathabhanga on February 11 where political circles expect at least three more BJP MLAs will be present.
The central leadership of the BJP is understood to have taken the issue of desertions of BJP legislators seriously.
