Gorkhaland Territorial Administration Health and Family Welfare Department Sabhasad Arun Sigchi and Director Samden Dukpa who are now on an official visit to Kolkata informed ,releasing the letter of approval issued by the West Bengal Government.
Arun Sigchi had placed the demand a few months ago with West Bengal Minister of State for Health Chandrima Bhattacharya, along with problems and requirements of various hospitals in the hills.
Sigchi said: “Under the leadership of Anit Thapa, we have made clear adjustments with the government and are putting emphasis on development in the hills and issue of work orders.
I am aiming to establish the hill hospitals model and reliable hospitals in Bengal, with the aim of modernization and strengthening of the health sector.”
With the cooperation of everyone the Darjeeling District Hospital was now improving structurally and administratively. The facility of CT Scan had been introduced in the hospital recently and patients had been relieved from the hassle and inconvenience of going to Siliguri for this facility.
The GTA was also considering the relocation of Kurseong Hospital to a suitable place. “I am seriously aware of the various problems of Kalimpong District Hospital.”
He had also drawn the attention of the West Bengal Health Department to the problems of primary health centres and sub-centres.
