YAWAN GURUNG, EOI, MIRIK, FEBRUARY 12, 2023 The visit to Kolkata of Gorkhaland Territorial Administration sabhasads and chairpersons of four hill municipalities has been a fruitful one, Chairman of Mirik Municipality L. B.Rai said on Sunday.
“With the tireless efforts of GTA chief executive Anit Thapa and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the people living in the tea gardens will get land rights. This is a great achievement,” Rai said.
“The work that no one could do has been done with the initiative of the Chief Minister and the activism of the GTA chief. I am thankful for this.”
In the course of the visit, the decision to upgrade the Mirik Block Primary Health Centre to a Sub-Divisional Hospital was taken, he said. Houses would be built for all the residents of Mirik.” Chairpersons of the four municipalities of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong and Mirik had accompanied Anit Thapa to Kolkata.
