‘Centre to file review petition on SC order along with petition of Sikkim Government’

EOI, GANGTOK, JANUARY 31, 2023: Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang has said in a message in his official page that he has spoken to Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju on the issue of a review petition on the Supreme Court order in the matter of income tax exemption for the old settlers of Sikkim, says an IPR release in Gangtok.
“I have personally spoken to the Law Minister Kiren Rijiju who has assured me that the Government of India will support the review petition of the Government of Sikkim, and if required will file a review petition itself as well on similar lines.
I thank him on behalf of the people of Sikkim,” the Chief Minister said on Tuesday.
“The State Government has already initiated steps for filing the review petition for addressing the same. All endeavours are there. I express my solidarity not only with the Sikkimese Nepali community but with all the communities of our State. We will always remain united.”
