Central delegation in north Bengal to inquire into midday meal irregularity allegations
EOI CORRESPONDENT,SILIGURI, FEBRUARY 1, 2023: A 12 members Central delegation reached Bagdogra Airport on Wednesday to inquire into the allegations of irregularities into the distribution of mid-day meal in schools.
Sources said, the team had been sent under the name of Joint Review Mission under the Prime Minister 'Poshan' project, under the leadership of Professor Anuradha Dutta, Head of Department of Food and Nutrition, College of Home Science, and Professor G.B. Panth from University of Agriculture and Technology in Uttarakhand. The team was divided into two groups. One group leftfor the Naxalbari block of Darjeeling district and another group for the Jalpaiguri district. A team of four, including Anuradha Roy, Bhupendra Kumar, Rushda Anam Malik and Anindita Shukla, visited Shubhamaya Surya Narayan High School in Bagdogra.
Another group headed by G.B. Panth left for Sannyasikata in Jalpaiguri district. They inspected the condition of mid-day meal and kitchens in the schools. They also communicated with the students.
