Bhaichung enlists two ‘historical blunders’ of SKM government

SUJAL PRADHAN, EOI, GANGTOK, FEBRUARY 10, 2023 :  The distortion of Sikkimese identity and the tag "immigrant" to the Nepali community are two historical blunders of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha government in the last four years said Hamro Sikkim Party leader Bhaichung Bhutia while addressing a news conference jointly with Sikkim Republican Party leader KB Rai.
“The special assembly called by the State Government has failed to fulfill the aspirations and remained unfruitful. The government could have done many things in the assembly but they did nothing hence it was unfruitful,” Bhaichung said.
“We agree now that the immigrant tag has been removed but what about the distortion of  Sikkimese identity? For ILP implementation also they just formed a committee. They should have passed are solution I the assembly for ILP also and submitted it to the Union Home Ministry; it would have been more appropriate.”
Bhutia said: "The government every time just requests the Centre to realize Sikkim has article 371 F it appears it is a toothless government and has no power. It is a puppet government."
KB Rai    said: "Just removing one paragraph from the judgment will not solve the whole problem. There are many other paragraphs also which also need to be removed but the government is busy celebrating the victory instead of doing that.
