Tourist festival starts in Kalimpong

EOI, KALIMPONG, JANUARY 12, 2023: A tourist festival started in Kalimpong on Thursday, organized by Hill Youth Society. The focus of the festival is on tourists as well as locals.
It features everything, from food to entertainment. Chief Executive Officer of Gorkhaland Territorial Administration Anit Thapa was present in the event, along with Rajya Sabha M.P. Shanta Chhetri and MLA of Kalimpong Ruden Sada Lepcha.
A rally was taken out from Triangle Park to the fairground. GTA Tourism Department Sabhasad Suman Gurung said the festival would help attract more tourists to the hills of Darjeeling and Kalimpong. There was a tourist booth in the hills because of the prevailing peace and the credit for this went to Anit Thapa. If a number of places of tourist attraction were built in the hills, sources of income would increase and the unemployment problem would mitigate to some extent.
