Jetshen Dohna Lama given rousing reception in Siliguri

PRASHANT ACHARYA, EOI, SILIGURI, JANUARY 24, 2023: Jetshen Dohna Lama of Sikkim who won the singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs season 9 on  January 22 was given grand welcome at Bagdogra airport and Panighata More in Upper Bagdogra on Tuesday.
Thousands  of  people  of  Bagdogra gathered at Panighata More to get a glimpse of Jetshen who landed at Bagdogra airport along with her father Roshan and mother Younis. It was difficult to take Jetshen to the stage for the police and organizers due to over crowd in Bagdogra.
Members of several Nepali clubs and social organisations including Tenzing Norgay and Chetenshil Sangarshrat Jamat presented a memento to Jetshen. She was also given a grand welcome at Kadamtala More near Shivmandir.
Jetshen  made  the  crowd  crazy  by singing a few lines of a Hindi song ‘Oh Bewafa.’ People started lighting the torch of their mobile phones all together to welcome Jetshen. When asked Jetshen what next she had planned she said: “I wish to buy a puppy and build a swimming pool at home.” 
On being asked if she wished to stay in Mumbai and sing in films, Jetshen said: “First, I will go to Sikkim, complete my education and then I shall return and continue with singing.”Jetshen who was born on  April 27, 2013,at Pakyong in Sikkim started singing at the age of three years and at the age of 4 she first covered the song, ‘How far I will go’ from an English animated film Moana. In2016  she  created  the  Youtube  channel Jetsen Dohana Official. 
On October 29, 2021,she performed at the pre-event of the sixth Sikkim Run held at M G Marg, Gangtok
