Hill runners in Mumbai Marathon campaign for Jethsen Dona Lama

YAWAN GURUNG, EOI, MIRIK, JAN 18, 2023:  Runners from Darjeeling, Sikkim and Kalimpong all completed their marathon in Mumbai while promoting Jethsen Dona Lama and asking people in Mumbai too to vote for the little singing sensation from Sikkim.
Sarswati Rai from Kalimpong who clocked her full marathon in 3 hr 14minutes and was placed first in her category also made sure that she appealed to fellow runners and spectators of Tata Mumbai Marathon to give a missed call for Jethsen Dona. Most of the runners were impressed with this campaign and have promised the Jethsen Support Group - Marathon Group to give a missed call so that Jethsen Dona wins the Saregama Little champ singing competition.
The brain child behind this creative campaign was Vikram Rai, founder of VIkrun Foundation, Darjeeling who is a passionate runner and a marathon organiser. Vikram himself wore the T-shirt to support Jethsen Dona Lama and ran the fullmarathon of 42 kms. Vikram who runs in minimalist running slippers called Vibrams got terrible blisters in both his feet but he still completed the full marathon in 4hr 30 mins.
Vikram Rai said: “There was a lot of pain in the 34 km mark but I had to make sure thatI complete my full marathon only for Jethsen Dona. “
He also met Jethsen Dona Lama on Saturday in Andheri in Mumbai and offered his blessing and support for the finals. Dr Sudarshan Tamang, founder of Project Life team who is an Assistant Professor in Sikkim University led the way in the Male marathon section and wore a T-shirt appealing to people to give a missed call for Jethsen
