YAWAN GURUNG, EOI, MIRIK, JANUARY 30, 2023: “You will not remember your friend when you are in a chair and you will remember your friend when the chair is gone. We should not pretend like this,” MLA of Darjeeling Neeraj Zimba said on Sunday when Hamro Party president Ajoy Edwards arrived at the ‘Bhumi Pujan’ ceremony for the construction of the statue of Subash Ghisingh and his wife Dhankumari Ghisingh at Manjushree Park in Mirik.
Speaking on the current political situation in the hills, Zimba said: "We have understood Delhi. We knew it. But others have only seen Delhi. Delhi will do something for the Gorkha community. We are not only hopeful but also confident.”
At Manjushri Park, Subash Ghisingh’s car, the jeep provided by Rajiv Gandhi, books and clothes would be provided. Ajoy Edwards stood in queue to reach the venue of ‘Bhumi Pujan’ to pay respects to Subash Ghisingh and Dhan Kumari Ghisingh.
