BJP, TMC bicker as school children's Siliguri rally video goes viral

SNS, SILIGURI , 22 NOVEMBER 2022: BJP leaders in the region have started criticising the Trinamool Congress by showcasing a video clip, in which a group of school going children is shouting the "BJP zindabad" slogans from a school bus stuck in a traffic jam caused by a public rally organised by the ruling TMC in Siliguri yesterday.
The TMC yesterday took out the rally and held a public meeting in protest against "attempts to divide Bengal," I and demanding that two Union Ministers of state Nisith Pramanik and John Barla step down as the court had issued arrest warrants against them in two different cases.
"As the adage goes, 'morning shows the day, students of today are the helmsman of our nation and region tomorrow. The children know, which party is going to bring about transformation in West Bengal, and they air not afraid to say it out loud," said Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, commenting on the video clip that has now gone viral on social media. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nisith Pramanik today said: "From elderly people to school going kids, all have finally realized that the BJP is the best in West Bengal at the present situation. They also want that the BJP should come to power in Bengal."
Asked to comment, Siliguri organizational district Trinamool Congress president Papiya Ghosh, on the other hand, said BJP leaders do nasty politics. "Innocent children, who do not even have political knowledge, were promoted by somebody to shout slogans in their favour. The principal of the school should alert the children so that such political leaders do not trap and use them politically," she said. It may be noted here that traffic was thrown out of gear in the town yesterday, with many stuck in traffic snarls on various roads.
"I have watched the video and my reading is that those students are aware of political parties. Since their school bus got stuck for a long time in a traffic snarl due to the TMC's rally, they shouted in favour of the BJP," said an observer.
One Nitai Mandal, who is also the Rajganj Block BJP president, had taken the video of the students, who were shouting slogans from their bus, and uploaded it on social media. "I came to Siliguri from Rajganj. Suddenly, I noticed and was taken aback by the students' twins, as they also shouted 'TMC Murdabad, Mamata Banerjee Murdabad' as the TMC's rally was
headed in the opposite direction on the other lane. I took the video from the road," said Mr Mondal.
"As it can be seen from the video, the TMC must have used all their threat tactics to bring in people to walk in the rally, which was done only to showcase their supposed strength and nothing else. Most people participating in the rally were walking halfheartedly. While the adults were likely forced to remain quiet, they were not able to put in the fear in the school students, who were clearly vocalizing what most people in North Bengal feel- -BJP is the only hope for bringing about a positive change in our region," Mr Bista said, adding,
"Today it is in North Bengal, tomorrow I am cent percent confident every children, youth and adult across West Bengal will also come to the same realization."
