Deep Depression over Bangladesh weakened into a Depression over northeast Bangladesh and neighbourhood.

PR, KalimNews, kalimpong, 25 October 2022: The Deep Depression over Bangladesh (Remnant of Cyclonic Storm “SITRANG”) moved north-northeastward with a speed of 20 kmph during past 6 hours and further weakened into a Depression and lay centered at 0530 hrs IST of 25th October over northeast Bangladesh and neighborhood near latitude 24.70N and longitude 91.50E, about 150 km northeast of Dhaka, 90 km north-northeast of Agartala, and 100 km south-southwest of Shillong.

It is very likely to continue to move north-northeastwards and weaken into a well marked low pressure area during next 6 hours.

INSAT 3D SHOWS CLOUDS OVER NORTH BANGLADESH AND NORTHEASTERN STATES OF INDIA. ASSOCIATED BROKEN LOW/MEDIUM CLOUD WITH EMBEDDED INTENSE TO VERY INTENSE CONVECTION OVER ASSAM, ARUNACHAL PRADESH, NAGALAND, MANIPUR, MEGHALAYA, AND BANGLADESH. MINIMUM CLOUD TOP TEMPERATURE IS MINUS 81 DEGREE CELSIUS.

(ii) Wind warning: Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is likely over north Bay of Bengal and along and off Bangladesh coast during next 6-hours and reduce thereafter. Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is likely over south Assam and adjoining Meghalaya, Mizoram & Tripura during next 6 hours and reduce thereafter. 

(iii) Sea condition Rough to very Rough Sea conditions are likely to prevail over North Bay of Bengal and along and off Bangladesh coast during next 6-hours.

(iv) Fishermen Warning (warning graphics enclosed) Fishermen are advised not to venture into north Bay of Bengal, along and off Bangladesh coasts till noon of 25th October, 2022 .
