Covid: Bengal logs 1,132 new infections, 576 recoveries

Case positivity rate was 15.12 per cent on a day 7,478 samples were tested

TT Bureau   |   Calcutta   |    05.07.22  : Bengal on Monday reported 1,132 new Covid-19 infections, 576 recoveries and no death.

Case positivity rate was 15.12 per cent on a day 7,478 samples were tested.

Currently, there are 11,139 active cases in the state: 10,694 in home isolation and 445 in hospitals, according to the state bulletin.

The state’s recovery rate was 98.41 per cent and mortality rate 1.04 per cent on Monday.

The state has so far vaccinated 72,640,424 people with first doses and 63, 524,126 with second doses.

In light of the recent uptick in cases, booster doses being administered in the state have also increased. So far,  38,36,044 booster doses have been administered in Bengal.

According to reports, altogether 15,083 doses of Covid vaccines were administered in the state on Monday.

Since the pandemic broke out in 2020, the state has recorded 20,35,617 Covid cases of which 20,03,253 recovered and 21,225 died.
