J.P. Yadav   |   TT  |  Hyderabad   |   02.07.22  :  The top leaders of the BJP started reaching Hyderabad on Friday for a two-day national executive meeting over the weekend that is set to sharpen Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaign against dynastic parties, fresh from the success in dislodging the Uddhav Thackeray-led government in Maharashtra.

Given the choice of Hyderabad as the venue, the principal target would be the ruling party in the state, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, led by chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Assembly polls are due in the state next year.

Modi will spend a night here and address a rally at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on Sunday, on the conclusion of the conclave, seeking to power the party’s effort to spread wings not only in Telangana but the entire south.

“From the Gandhi family-run Congress, we want to focus now on dynastic parties in states,” a BJP leader said. The party leadership, however, will shy off from using the same dynastic yardstick in Andhra Pradesh against chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy because he is favourably disposed towards the BJP.

The YSR Congress party, named after Jagan’s late father, is supporting the BJP’s presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu. In contrast, the TRS of late has been attacking the BJP and even trying to take the anti-BJP campaign across the country. The TRS’s anger towards the BJP, however, is mainly due to the BJP’s drive to grow in the state. BJP president J.P. Nadda held a roadshow in the city on Friday evening.BJP’s Telangana minder Tarun Chugh in a media address here said some 350 national executive members  from across the country would take part in the meeting. “The countdown for the ouster of the KCR government has begun. Bye bye KCR...,” Chugh said.
